Des Moines, IA - The American Institute for Animal Science, Inc. (AIAS) announced today that its private school license was approved by the State of Iowa, Department of State, Postsecondary and Instructional School Programs. AIAS plans to enroll 20 students in a 12-week pilot course entitled Animal Learning Processes and Behavior (CAS 101) taught by animal scientist Daniela Maina, PhD and assistant instructors Emily Weiss, PhD and James Jacabow, PhD as part of the Institute's Canine Behavior Counselor curriculum which will begin on July 1, 2001.
The Canine Behavior Counselor curriculum is unique in the world in that it provides students with the theoretical and practical knowledge and experience to shape behavior in family dogs as well as treat behavior problems on a clinical level.
