Workshop Accommodations |
Students may elect to stay at the Best Western Eden Park Hotel, about a 10 minute walk or short bus ride to the ABCNY facility. Free shuttle service may be available as a group only, to be dropped off & picked up each workshop day: 9:30am & 6:00pm Please check with the front desk to make shuttle arrangements. The hotel also has a cafe, exercise room and complimentary shuttle service to the mall, subway, J.F.K and La Guardia Airports. Rooms have air conditioning, remote color cable television and VCR, and desks with computer modem hookup. Continental breakfast is served from 6am-11am. You may request to have a fridge in your room. Laundry and valet services are available. Any special room rates for AIAS students are subject to change as per seasonal rates, et al.

Student Apartment:
One student apartment that can accommodate two students featuring a full kitchen, washer and drier. This apartment is available on a first request basis. Please call: 1.877.226.4637 to check for availability and/or to make arrangements.
The apartment is about a 20 -25 minute brisk walk from the school. The walk is an easy, safe, 'neighborhood' walk. Most houses have cute little gardens to look at while you walk by. Students have safely walked back to the apartment at night. At this time everyone (mostly women and children) was walking home from work, to the grocery store, walking their dogs, etc. There are shops, a grocery store and a bank along the way. The best way to go is down 67th Ave (a left from the apartment), take a left onto Saunders until you come to Eliot Ave, take a right and the school is just a couple of buildings down.
It is great having a kitchen. You may wind up spending almost no money on food! There is a great Italian place and a great Thai place not far from the school where you can get pretty cheap lunches. | |
