School of Companion Animal Science

Companion Animal Behavior Counseling Program
Specialization in Canine Behavior

This program is designed for the students who wish to begin a career in applied animal behavior with a specialty in dog training and behavior counseling. Our graduates own and operate family dog behavior practices, obedience training schools, in-home obedience training businesses, or have associations with licensed veterinary medical practices, government animal control shelters, "no-kill" community animal shelters, law enforcement agencies, or private security companies. Over 50 percent of our graduates are already working in the field before enrolling in this program with the intention of expanding their theoretical and practical knowledge base and furthering their academic credentials through board certification.
There is an online theoretical course module and a ground-based practical course module in this program. Modules may be taken seperately or together as a complete program.

Theoretical Course Module (288 Clock Hours - Online Classes)

Practical Workshop Module (96 Clock Hours - Ground-based Workshops)

"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."
