RE: American College of Applied Science
I am pleased to announce that the faculty and administration of the American Institute for Animal Science had received its
provisional license from the Commission for Independent Education, Florida Department of Education to operate a new
degree-granting college via our online learning platform. The American College of Applied Science, (ACAS), will begin offering,
during the Spring 2005 quarter, a career diploma program in companion animal behavior that is comparable to the current program
in which you are enrolled.
In addition, ACAS will also be offering a Bachelors of Science degree in companion animal science, a Master of Science graduate
program in companion animal behavior counseling, and a Master of Science graduate program in animal shelter administration
beginning Summer 2005.
The new undergraduate degree program and the two graduate degree programs are unique degree programs never before offered in the
United States. During the Spring 2005 quarter, all registrations will be through AIAS and courses will be taught under ACAS
faculty. If you compare the two programs you will find that the courses, length of study and tuition are identical.
AIAS students will have two options. You may remain in the AIAS program (while taking courses through ACAS) and receive your
diploma from AIAS upon successful completion of all requirements. The other option and the one both faculties recommend, is that
you complete an admissions application with ACAS during the Spring 2005 quarter and complete your program through the American
College of Applied Science. If you choose the second option, there will be no ACAS enrollment fee or tuition increases
whatsoever. Furthermore, the classroom software that you have become accustomed to will remain the same.
There are several benefits to enrolling in the new college. If you choose to apply to one of the new undergraduate or graduate
degree programs at ACAS, most of your courses will transfer. Secondly, because ACAS is a licensed college, graduating from ACAS
will be preferable.
Finally, ACAS is positioned to develop some outstanding career and degree programs in the field of applied animal behavior and
will begin conducting empirical research in the field via its graduate programs as well. If you gradate from ACAS, this success
will be an important accomplishment of your alma mater.
