Dog Training Animal Behavior Courses & Classes AIAS is state licensed instructional school and a leader in providing online distance learning and ground-based academic programs in applied animal science to a diverse global student population. Sept 1, 2005:
The American Institute for Animal Science (AIAS) is not enrolling new students at this time. Current AIAS students have been transferred to the new American College of Applied Science that offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in addition to career/vocational diploma programs. Companion Animal Behavior Counseling Program
Canine Behavior Specialization
Feline Behavior Specialization (TBA)

The field of applied animal behavior for companion animals is experiencing explosive growth throughout the modern world. Our canine behavior specialization track includes dog training and behavior counseling for professional dog trainers and is taught by university and clinical faculty in online virtual classrooms and regional ground-based workshops and behavior clinics. This program satisfies the theoretical and practical course requirements for board certification with the Association of Companion Animal Behavior Counselors. Canine and Feline Breeder Program (TBA)

Dog and Cat (Canine and Feline) Breeder Program A responsible breeder of companion animals will be focused on advancement of the breed and should be knowledgeable about reproduction, nutrition, wellness and care, early behavioral development, and breeding ethics. This 240 hour online distance learning program is designed to convey this knowledge and award graduates with a certificate that serves as evidence of competency to anyone who is concerned about locating a scientifically educated and ethically responsible breeder. Ground-Based Animal Behavior Workshops

This regional ground-based certificate program offers dog training, obedience instructor skills development, and abnormal behavior clinics through its Strategic Partner Alliances. Students complete 6-day ground-based workshops at AIAS certified animal behavior facilities in major cities. Programs feature clicker training methodology, Gentle Leader head collars, and humane and effective positive methods for shaping the behavior of a family dog. Workshops satisfy the practical course requirements for professional certification by the Association of Companion Animal Behavior Counselors. For more information See the Curriculum Outline. On January 12, 2005 the faculty and administration of the American Institute of Animal Science formed the American College of Applied Science, a Florida Department of Education, Commission for Independent Education licensed degree granting college offering graduate, undergraduate and non-degree programs in the animal sciences.
